A Sustainable Future Starts Here Brisbane Event Recap

Cultivated, in collaboration with Cult Design, LoomTex and Instyle Interior Finishes, came together to celebrate the creativity, craftsmanship, and commitment of Australia’s local design and manufacturing community. The evening brought together passionate industry leaders and changemakers who are paving the way for a more sustainable future through conscious design. Together, we explored how local innovation, materials, and skills are essential to shaping a better tomorrow.

As part of the conversation at our recent Brisbane event, Cultivated shared how we're helping lead the way in circular economy thinking - offering second-life furniture as a sustainable alternative to landfill. With innovations like digital product passport tracking and project case studies that demonstrate our restored furniture seeing its third and fourth life, we’re proving that well-constructed pieces can live many lives when specified consciously from the very beginning of a project.

But sustainability doesn’t stop there.

Cultivated also fuels local economies by keeping a continuous workstream flowing to local craftspeople and artisans in the furniture trade. When we think local, the environmental footprint naturally shrinks—and the impact grows. Here’s to continued collaboration, connection, and remaining deeply conscious of the design process and its long-term effects.
