A new workplace doesn't have to start with new furniture.
When ARM Architecture relocated to a new workplace, the conversation began not with new furniture, it began with what already existed. The inventory included vintage Eames Aluminium Group chairs, an Eames Wire Base table, a custom surfboard-shaped boardroom table commissioned more than 25 years ago, and a Moroso Newton sofa. We identified what could be restored, reimagined and carried into its next chapter.

Looking Beyond Replacement
A collection of restored Fritz Hansen Series 7 chairs became a defining feature of the new workplace. Originally coloured ash shells, each chair was sandblasted to reveal the timber grain before being refinished in custom burgundy, deep blue and black water-based enamel. The original chrome bases were professionally polished, restoring their lustre while preserving the character that only decades of use can create. Alongside the Series 7 collection, Cultivated supplied fully upholstered About A Chairs on castors. Each chair was reupholstered in Instyle's Chunky textile - a richly textured black-and-white speckled fabric - with powder-coated bases selected to complement the studio's palette.
A Workplace That Continues Its Story
Rather than beginning with a blank slate, ARM Architecture embraced a workplace built on continuity.By restoring existing furniture, introducing thoughtfully reworked classics and making considered material choices, the new studio reflects the enduring value of good design and the belief that well-made objects deserve more than one life.
