Elfin Stool at A Place Between by DKO
Partnering with like-minded people has always been at the core of what Cultivated is about. This extends beyond our collaborators to the pieces themselves — each carrying a story worth continuing. For A Place Between, presented as part of Melbourne Design Week by DKO, Cultivated supplied a lightly restored Elfin Stool by Melbourne designer Ross Didier. Thoughtfully reintroduced into the project, the piece retained its original character while finding new relevance within a carefully considered environment conceived by DKO.

Much like the exhibition itself, the Elfin Stool embodies the idea that meaningful design can evolve rather than be replaced. Through restoration, the piece was given the opportunity to exist within a new context — one that celebrated connection, craftsmanship and the value of considered longevity. Set amongst a collection of contemporary Australian design, the stool contributed to a broader conversation around how existing objects can continue to enrich the spaces we create. For Cultivated, projects such as A Place Between demonstrate the role restoration can play in shaping future environments, ensuring good design remains in circulation for generations to come.
