CH26
By Hans Wegner
Designed: 1950
History
Originally designed in 1950 by Hans J Wegner, the CH26 Chair remained a drawing in the Carl Hansen & Søn archives until it was finally brought into production in 2016. Closely related to the CH22 lounge chair, the CH26 is defined by its gentle curves, sculpted solid timber frame and hand-woven paper cord seat. Its generous proportions and relaxed upright posture make it ideal for both dining and casual seating.
This collection of CH26 chairs was sourced from a café on Sydney Harbour. Lightly used in a laid-back setting, the chairs arrived in excellent condition with only minimal signs of wear.
Cultivated
These chairs required only light restoration. Each piece has been carefully cleaned to remove surface dirt and marks around the feet. While some natural wear may be present, including surface scratches or slight impressions in the paper cord, the chairs remain structurally sound and visually striking. Their gentle patina adds character while maintaining the warmth and refinement of Wegner’s original design.
